This RARE RARE walnut Gerstner, model W75 S373, was only made for ONE YEAR,1981, on the occasion of Gerstner's 75th Anniversay - it was only available to Gerstner Club members. There are 13 drawers and a top compartment - it includes a key which I purchased from Gerstner. This particular chest belonged to George J. Sherwood - the brass placque which attests to this is on the chest and includes the serial number, 0267. I am not sure if all of these were walnut like this one or if the member could choose his wood. It has a built-in base as part of it's construction which raises the chest off the floor and protects the bottom - it is the only Gerstner constructed this way I have ever seen. The box is in very good condition for it's 40 years - it has a small spot of finish loss/ fading on the top and sone lite scratches on the rear and top and there is a SMALL CRACK in the very bottom right of the lid (see the pic - it is clearly shown). All of these imperfections could EASILY be fixed if the new owner wishes - I would personally leave it untouched as it has a great appearance as it sits. The felt in the drawers and top compartment is like new - Mr. Sherwood put additional pieces of felt in the drawer bottoms to protect the original felt and they have done their job superbly. The pice of felt on the inside of the front lid is faded and though it isn't torn, it is not in the same perfect codition as the rest. This is your chance to own a VERY hard to get gerstner for your collection and your fine tools, jewelry etc. Thanks for looking - if you have a few minutes, I have a number of excellent tools, both collectible and user, among the items in my Ebay store.
