86-91 VW Vanagon ECU Monitor Kit by Shoebox Electronix

Our 8691-V ECU Monitor is designed to help you troubleshoot fuel injection and electrical sensor problems on 1986 - 1991 VW Vanagons. We have provided several hundred products to the Vanagon Community since 2003.
Our goal is not simply to market products, but to work with our customers to help them succeed in using them to not only save time and money, but to better understand the inner workings of their vehicle. The Front Panel / Circuit Board assembly & Ribbon Cables are preassembled and tested. You simply need to mount the FP/CB assembly into the case provided with four screws, then follow the step by step instructions to remove, open, and prepare your ECU. Finally solder 13 small gauge wires on one end of the 12" Cable to the designated pins on the ECU circuit board, button up your ECU, connect the provided 12' Ribbon Cable to the short 12" ribbon cable connector, and to your ECU Monitor. That's it. If you do not want to do any prep work, we also have a "Plug & Play" 8691 Shop System Kit (available by special order) for 5.00 (Functional ECU included)
STATUS LEDs display on, off, and pulse signals e.g. IGNITION ON, THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH, FUEL PUMP, FUEL INJECTOR PULSES, HALL PULSES, & COIL PULSES.
DIGITAL VOLTMETER displays analog voltage measurements e.g. AIR FLOW METER, COOLANT & AIR TEMPERATURES, BATTERY VOLTAGE, O2 SENSOR FEEDBACK & O2 SENSOR GND.
All necessary components are supplied; Front Panel / Circuit Board, ABS Case, 12" Ribbon Cable w/ Cable Connector, & 12' Ribbon Cable w/ Cable Connectors. Aditionally, Solder, Sandaper, Alcohol Pads, Cotton Swabs, Rubber Feet, DB25 Cable Connector Cover, 3M Mounting Pad, Cotton Bag for 12' Cable Storage, and Burlap Bag for Monitor Storage are provided in your kit. Soldering Tips, Assembly & Installation Manual, User Manual & Troubleshooting Guide hard copies
are also included to make your installation easier.
All documentation is also provided on CDROM.
