Description
Beautiful primitive tool chest. Made of all wood. All fasteners are either old nails or flat head screws....No staples or even phillips head screws which shows off its age.Beautiful patina! Dark brown. Some of the wood is lightly split at the corners. The knob is turned wood.
It has a removable tray which lifts right out. It sits in the chest nicely. At one point the chest sides had rope handles that have worn off due to age.
It was built well as it is still a strong box. The door still closes perfectly.
I would date this to around the late 1800's to early 1900's but please see pictures to be sure.
I AM BASED IN OHIO WHICH HAS A LARGE AMISH POPULATION ALONG WITH NEIGHBORING PENNSYLVANIA.
Approximately 17" wide, 10" deep, and 8 1/4" tall.
It will be protected well and insured.
