This key blank is unprogrammed....it will NOT crank your vehicle until it is cut to match your key and electronically programmed to your vehicle's computer

This key blank is one of the newest type GM keys...it is considered a "side milled" or "laser cut" key.
This type key requires a special machine to cut it....most hardware stores and many locksmith shops do NOT have the necessary machine to cut this key. So as to avoid a return, please make sure you have cutting of the key pre-arranged.
Merchandise Description
This ebay auction is for one (1) Strattec brand transponder electronic key blank with Chevy logo...just as pictured. This blank is considered a "side mill" blank and also known as a "laser cut" blank.
This key blank is made by Strattec....they are the OEM for this part. GM buys this part from Strattec and packages it under the GM name. It has the same appearance, specifications, and quality as those sold under the GM name.
This key blank is unprogrammed and must be programmed AT THE VEHICLE before it will crank the vehicle.
In most cases you can program the key yourself by following the below on-board programming method.
We can provide a copy of the programming procedure, but the programming is then entirely up to you the customer...we do not provide any troubleshooting technical support. If all aspects of your car's main systems are in good working order, then programming of the key is usually not a problem.

IMPORTANT:
If the key blank is bought without prior approval for key cutting service, then we will assume the key blank "as listed" meets your needs and it will be shipped as described in the listing.
Below are the on-board programming procedures...read CAREFULLY!
Use Procedure A if
your vehicle is 2016 or older.
Use Procedure B if the vehicle is 2017 or newer and you have TWO already programmed keys.
Use Procedure C if the vehicle is 2017 or newer and you only have ONE working programmed key.
Procedure A: Add Duplicate Key
1. Insert an existing already programmed/working key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to ON (RUN) and then back to OFF.
3. Remove the existing key, and within 5 seconds insert
the new key to be programmed and turn the ignition cylinder to ON
(RUN) position. The security light will turn off once the new key has been programmed
successfully.
4. To program additional new keys, repeat steps 1-3.
Procedure B: Add Duplicate Key (Requires two existing working keys)
1. Insert an existing key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to ON (RUN) and then back to OFF.
3. Remove the existing key, and within 5 seconds insert a second existing key, turning it ON (RUN) and then back to OFF.
4. Remove the second key existing key.
5. Insert the new key to be programmed within 5 seconds and turn the ignition cylinder to       ON
(RUN) position. The security light will turn off once the new key has been         programmed
successfully.
6. To program additional new keys, repeat steps 1-5.
Procedure C: Originate new key - when zero working keys exist - OR on 2017 and newer when only one already working programmed key exists
1. Insert the NEW key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to ON (RUN) and the security light will come on.
3. Wait 10 minutes until the security light turns off.
4. Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 two more times. Upon completion of the third time, turn the ignition cylinder
to ON (RUN), the new key is now programmed and existing keys will no longer work the
vehicle.
6. To program a second key, turn the first key OFF and insert the second key and turn the ignition
cylinder to ON (RUN).
