Coalport Hand Painted Castle Landscape Green & Heavy Gold Shell Border Plate B
Fabulous porcelain bone china plate with relief molded shell designs along the edge. Decorated with a hand painted castle on a hill above a lake scene, framed in raised and beaded gold gilt floral scrollwork and lattice / net designs over a white background. Gold gilt seaweed designs along the inner rim. With a border of green. The relief molding along the edge is gold gilded and is framing various sections with oars, fishing nets, and various symbols related to water, with beaded and raised gold shells and seaweed below. Marked on the bottom England Coalport AD 1750 with a crown. This mark was used between 1891 and 1920. Also marked with the pattern number Z854 in red.
Has crazing typical of bone china and some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 9 5/8 inches wide.
