Description

Here is a gorgeous, antique porcelain plate made by Coalport for Raphael Weill's department store (The White House) in San Fransisco.
It dates from around 1900.
Raphael Weill was a very important and fascinating character in the history of San Fransisco, especially during the 1906 earthquake.
The plate is decorated with two gold-encrusted bands enclosing a cream-colored band on the rim.
It measures 10- 1/2 inches in diameter, and is 1 inch deep.
This plate is in excellent condition, aside from a couple of tiny spots where the gold is worn, and some very minor utensil marks. (See images)
Otherwise it is free from any damage or repairs.
