    Description

DM Systems Floppy Emulator - Model
    FE-252
    5
The FE-2525 is a general purpose floppy drive emulator based on the fantastic HxC firmware developed by Jean-François DEL NERO. This floppy drive emulator can directly replace the aging original floppy drives in many computers, music instruments, and other equipment.
The FE-2525 is a direct replacement for 5.25" floppy drives! It's the only floppy emulator that will not look out of place in your vintage gear! The FE-2525 has the standard features of all DM Systems floppy emulators, such as:
    Alphanumeric OLED display,
Integrated buzzer for drive noise emulation
Full navigation and selection controls on the front of the device
Threaded inserts for drive mounting screws (No frustrating plastic screws!). These are in standard locations, so it is mountable in any case.
Additionally, the FE-2525 comes with accessories to allow and make easier the installation into virtually any equipment:
A Card edge to IDC adapter. This adapts the pin interface of the FE-2525 to the card edge type used by most systems that use 5.25" drives.
A Molex to Floppy Power Adapter. Most systems with 5.25" drives did not have the standard 0.1" floppy connector used by 3.5" drives.
8GB SanDisk USB drive pre-filled with images for a large variety of equipment. Just drag and drop to the root directory with the images for your equipment, and you are good to go!
While this drive is meant to look like a 5.25" drive, it is compatible with any system with any floppy drive, from 3.5" all the way to 8" floppies, provided you have the correct mounting.
    About HxC Floppy Emulators:
Disks are stored individually on a removable and interchangeable USB drive. Disks can be selected and loaded using the built in display and button interface. This device supports both reading and writing to the USB drive. By storing and accessing your disks via a USB drive, you remove all risk associated with relying on outdated and slowly degrading media. Additionally, disk images may be managed on any modern computer in the same way you can manage any sort of file. You can back up and fit your entire floppy collection on a single USB thumb drive.
The drive you receive will be loaded with the latest HxC firmware. The firmware is still under development, and new capabilities are being added all the time. It is easy to update the firmware in the future. Upon purchase, I will provide documentation for general installation and configuration of the drive. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be happy to help!
Below is an incomplete list of supported equipment. For more information and an updated list, check out http://hxc2001.free.fr/floppy_drive_emulator/. Feel free to contact me as well, and I can help you determine if the FE-2525 will work for your application. The HxC firmware allows a huge amount of granularity when it comes to floppy configurations. There is virtually no equipment that cannot be made to work with HxC drives!
