Thriller garnered an amazing 12 Grammy nominations,  winning 8 with 7 going to Michael personally.  Thriller won ALBUM OF THE YEAR.
In 2017,  THRILLER became the 1st album to ever cross the 30-million RIAA threshold by becoming a 33X Certified album,  but that counts only sales in the U.S.  THRILLER has sold more than 65,000,000 copies worldwide,  the best selling recording in history.

TRIPLE-MATTED
award was ordered by EPIC records and made by my father,  who was the premier GOLD & PLATINUM awards maker in the music industry for 50 years.   A Certificate of Authenticity comes with this award.  He always over-produced the record labels' orders for "aftermarket" needs which always occurred.  The labels and the artists would always need additional copies years after the originals were sent out to radio stations and music executives.   I inherited his estate when he passed at 91 years of age in 2016.  He actively made awards until he was 88.   While not much shows because of the multiple components of the award,  the fabric behind the platinum album is maroon textured faux leather.

Many of the awards I sell at extremely low prices from their actual value are sold on International auction sites for 10 times their listed prices on my ebay listings.    He primarily made country music awards with his workshop on Music Row in Nashville but was also contracted to make many Rock & Pop awards through the big record labels out of New York and L.A.
