Old Antique Victorian Glass Kitchen Flue Cover? PAPER TRAY with FRUIT Cherries

I am not sure what this actually is. It looks like a flue cover but doesn't have a chain or it could be a tray. It is old and has a paper print between 2 pieces of glass. See pics where you hold it up to light and see the paper but when tray is sitting on a table, the picture it fine. It has a silver metal rim around it with some damage. Again see all pics as they are part of the description. There is also a crack in the glass on the backside. but the glass in front is just fine. It has a plate hanger wire on back and can be hung on a wall. It is probably almost a hundred years old. It could be German or from USA. I just don't know much about it.
It measures 9" in diameter and the metal rim is 3/4" tall
