    Description

    Heston & Anderson (H&A) 6” Jointer model # 56 80 with a serial number that indicates a manufacturing date of mid to late 1930’s. 5’ long Bed with heavy cast construction that is powered by a 1HP Hoover Motor. Stand is also original to unit with a heavy cast top to support jointer body. I believe the stand is missing one side panel and may have had a custom dust chute attached to it at one time as there is an aluminum right angle piece attached to inside panel. Blew off unit with compressed air to reveal all markings and thoroughly tested unit . Below is a complete list of test findings/ notes. All components parts are present (except for panel mentioned above) and function with the exception of one gib being locked up on the infeed table. It appears that the hand wheel that lowers/raises infeed table height was marred up by a wrench. I’m assuming the previous owner tried to force it to turn so wheel and gibb will need attention. Otherwise everything is intact and functioning needing a bunch of rust removal. Surprisingly after removing dust, I found that the jointer appears not to have been used much. Blades all have original edge and there was minimal saw dust. I’m sure there will be some pitting but I only saw some spots by fence. The motor runs real smooth and effectively and is attached to an old Cutler Hammer Switch. The power cord has some cracks in the rubber sheathing so it may need replacement. Nice solid unit with great design details. I have many additional pictures of unit areas, so please ask if you want greater detail on an area.
