Historical note
The Russian sailing-screw frigate Oleg was laid down at the Kronstadt Shipyard on January 29, 1858 and launched on June 4, 1860. She was lost in August 1869 during a drill of the squadron in the Gulf of Finland between the islands of Gogland and Sommers. When the reformation of the squadron was being carried out, the armoured floating battery Kremlin hit the ship’s side with a sharp ram near the engine room. Nowadays the ship lies at the depth of 56 m and has almost no serious damages.
