Offered for auction here is the booklet entitled "Southern Philippines". With the war in the Pacific coming to a climax in 1945, US forces invaded the islands of Mindanao, Negros, Palawan, Panay and other smaller adjacent islands; the campaign was code-named "Operation Victor" and commenced three days after US troops entered Manila, to the north on Luzon island. Aided by naval and tactical air support, the islands were controlled by July 1945; airfields were quickly constructed to support Allied efforts in other areas. Each booklet measures appx 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches closed, 11 x 8 1/2 inches opened, and is printed on a high-quality semi-glossy paperstock. All are
