Gathered here are two fascinating glimpses into years gone by in the town of Flemington, in the County of Hunterdon, in the state of New Jersey, 2 booklets combined into one lot!
The two books are: OLD TIMES IN HUNTERDON, 1961, produced for the Hunterdon County Historical Society, containing articles drawn from past issues of the local newspaper Hunterdon County Democrat. An interesting note is that this booklet is only 1 of 300 that were printed in March of 1961; and SCENES OF YESTERDAY, 1976, printed for the Flemington National Bank and Trust, telling about the history of the bank and the town it lived in. Another special note on this booklet is that it has a thin white paper cover added to the original booklet, almost like pigskin. Additionally, this booklet has an extra flyer inserted into it from the then-President of the bank, telling about all the virtues of that historic institution. Both of these items are very rare, most likely removed and discarded in other issues long ago.
All booklets are filled with great facts and information on the area, and the black and white photos are extremely detailed and informative! All are held in plastic sleeves to further protect them.
